My first article

Here is my homework :p (has been modified by my language exchange partner from Sweden, of coz!)

I love tortoise, because it is cute. I wanted to keep a pet when I was small. I begged my dad to buy a chick for me, but he bought a tortoise after all. In Chinese, “chick” and “tortoise” sounds very similar, maybe my dad misunderstood what I meant. I kept 3 tortoises for a few years, from small to large size. They did something very interesting every afternoon, they sun bathed. The biggest one stayed as the foundation, the smallest one climbed to the top, they looked like ”tortoise sandwich”! I didn’t keep them when I moved to new house, because my parents didn’t want to keep them. I left them in a pool at a park, hope they are still alright!

The last sentence was "wish them are still alright!", but Swedish girl told me that there is difference between "wish" and "hope", here is the explanation:
wish 和 hope 的區別在哪裡?
