I love my mom
My mother is the best woman in the world. She dedicates her life to the family.
She got married when she was 20. It was not easy for a young girl to be a mother. She didn’t know how to take care of 4 children, sometimes felt frustrated and upset, of course, but she didn’t give up. She learnt how to be a good mother after 40 years.
My mother believes that her choice is the best for her children. We can’t refuse her opinion, because she tries her best to persuade us, until we accept her suggestion, so what we can do is to say “Yes, Madam!”
One day, my mother said, “Let’s go to the watch shop, you choose a watch, I buy it for you.” It wasn’t my birthday, my mother just wanted to buy me a gift! It was a big surprise! However, my mother had already chosen a watch for me when we came to the shop, it would be good if I were 50. I didn’t accept her advice, chose a watch that she didn’t like. She tried persuaded me not to choose it. We argued for a while.
“Agnes, choose a watch that you like then. You wear it everyday, it should be chosen by you.” My mother said. I was shocked, because she had never changed her mind. It was the first time that she didn’t insist. It was not easy to allow someone not to follow her instructions, but she knew what her children needed: respect and to let go.
We are not children anymore, but in her eyes, we always are. She learns to respect the children’s choice, to love what they love, to support what they do, even though it is not her choice.
